A water pipeline burst in Mumbai’s Bandra has triggered widespread concern after visuals of a heavily waterlogged road went viral on social media. The water pipeline burst has damaged the road near Lucky Junction, affecting the traffic movement on SV Road. According to sources, the pipeline had been repaired a few weeks ago. The footage on social media shows pedestrians struggling to navigate through the inundated area. It shows a key stretch submerged under gushing water, disrupting movement on the road.

The situation was caused by the burst in a drinking water pipeline, which led to sudden water accumulation on the road. Many commuters had to wade through knee-deep water. Police personnel were monitoring the situation at the site. The authorities are yet to issue any statement on the cause of rupture of pipeline. Water supply in Khar West and Bandra West got affected due to this incident. Some locals took this incident to social media. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Traffic Police also alerted the motorists regarding traffic disruptions on the busy Bandra road.

A similar kind of incident happened two months back at Mahim Causeway, where a major pipeline burst during excavation work led to severe flooding and traffic chaos. It caused lakhs of litres of water gushing onto the roadway, submerging the stretch and bringing vehicular movement to a near standstill. This incident also affected water supply in Khar West and Bandra West.
