Mumbai, 22 nd March, 2026 – Mumbai, the financial power-house of the city, also known as Little Israel as a result of the Israeli technology companies, diamond traders and ex-pats based in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) experienced an ugly missile attack in it. The Iranian retaliatory attack was in response to the Israeli airstrikes in the recent past on Tehran that have injured over 40 individuals towards the end of the night on Saturday that triggered panic in India commercial capital. The mayhem- fires that were being set and gutted down high-rises, the falling debris and people that were running like hares in terror were also captured in camera work videos that were viral on social media.

The attack is a metaphor of a dramatic climax of Israeli-Iran shadow war on Indian soil. BKC is situated in Tel Aviv, in the middle of the location where the esteemed BKC exists, with over 50 Israeli companies and cybersecurity organizations, including Check Point, and restaurants, including Aroma Espresso Bar, which has historically been the image of Indo-Israeli relations. Prime minister Narendra Modi was forced to cut short his rally in Gujarat to hold special Cabinet Committee on Security in Delhi. On X, he made it clear that he would be firm on the subject of terrorism and he will pursue the perpetrators of the crime, giving Israel every possible assistance it can offer him but requesting that he should remain calm. S. Jaishankar, who made hotlines to Tehran and Tel Aviv, condemned this act of cowardice by the Foreign Minister. Indian PM Benjamin Netanyahu praised India based on its ironclad alliance that was promising to share intelligence.
Security analysts also blame the attack on the growing range of missiles by Iran using its proxies like the Hezbollah and the Houthi. Here the Fateh-110 used has a range of 300 kilometers that is able to cross the Arabian Sea using the smuggling routes in Gujarat as it was evaluated by the retired Lt Gen. Prakash Katoch in NDTV. In the video, the hypersonic glide of the missile is depicted as it avoided the S-400 defense of Mumbai and was struck but the pieces of the secondary explosion caused the secondary explosions. Now Indian air force jets cover Mumbai and the NSG commandos guard the area of BKC.
The local reaction sets it as Bandra is shaking school shut down, market closed, tweeted actress Shilpa Shetty whose yoga studio is on the edge.
