The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title for the second consecutive year in 2026, after winning their first trophy in 2025. Virat Kohli anchored the chase with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, including nine fours and three sixes” while recording his fastest IPL fifty in just 25 balls.
Rasikh Salam Dar took three wickets in the final, whereas, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets. Gujarat Titans were restricted to 155 for eight in the first half. Venkatesh and Kohli opened for RCB and showed exceptional partnership of 62 runs
While RCB won their 2nd consecutive title, Phil Salt became the part of three consecutive IPL title-winning campaigns, lifting the trophy with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024, and adding back-to-back crowns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2025 and 2026. The IPL journey has been symbolic for Salt.
RCB’s players and staff will disperse to their respective homes rather than returning to Bengaluru immediately for celebrating their second successive IPL crown.
For the longest time, RCB failed to win any title. Since 2025, that narrative has undergone a dramatic shift by becoming only the third IPL side to win back-to-back IPL titles.
