Actor-turned-politician Vijay announced the first list of ministers during his historic swearing-in ceremony in Tamil Nadu. The event marked a major political shift after decades of Dravidian party rule. The cabinet includes a 29-year-old MLA, the youngest minister in the team, along with a doctor, a dentist, a former IRS officer, and seven other leaders. All ministers are from Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. No Congress leader got a place in the first list.
Ministers Who Took Oath Alongside Vijay Today:
1. Even before Vijay launched his party, N Anand served as president of his fan club association. Later, Anand helped build Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam with his strong management skills. He became the party’s first General Secretary and still holds the post today.
Anand also became one of the main spokespersons of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Before the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he said the party’s leader would become the next Chief Minister. In the elections, he contested from Chennai’s Thiyagarayanagar seat. He defeated DMK candidate Raja Anbazhagan with 51,632 votes in a constituency long dominated by DMK and AIADMK.
2. Aadhav Arjuna, a former national-level basketball player from Tamil Nadu, is known for his strong presence both in sports and politics. Standing 6 feet 7 inches tall, he works as a political strategist, philanthropist and sports administrator. During the last Assembly elections, he closely worked with M. K. Stalin and played a key role in the victory of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
He won the Villivakkam Assembly seat in Chennai in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. In Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, he serves as the General Secretary for Election Campaign Management. He is considered one of the party’s top leaders after party chief Vijay and General Secretary N Anand. He also serves as the President of the Basketball Federation of India.
3. Dr KG Arunraj is a doctor and former Indian Revenue Service officer from Tamil Nadu. He plays an important role in Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam as the party’s General Secretary for Policy and Propaganda. In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he contested from the Tiruchengodu constituency in Namakkal district and won the seat to become an MLA.
4. S Keerthana, a 29-year-old actor and MLA from Sivakasi representing Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, is set to take oath today as the youngest minister in the cabinet led by Chief Minister Vijay.
5. Dr TK Prabhu is a well-known leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and works as a dentist. In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he contested from the Karaikudi constituency and won the seat.
6.Sengottaiyan was one of the most senior leaders of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. However, the party expelled him last year after nearly five decades of association. Later, his decision to join hands with Vijay created a major buzz in Tamil Nadu politics.
7. P Venkataramanan is a first-time MLA and the treasurer of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He is also a lawyer. In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he won from the important Mylapore constituency in Chennai. Although he is new to active politics, he has worked closely with Vijay for many years and has served as the actor’s manager since 2000.
8. Nirmal Kumar plays an important role in Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam as the Deputy General Secretary for IT and Social Media. In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he contested from the Thirupparankundram constituency in Madurai and won the seat.
