Israeli military launched over 100 air strikes within 10 minutes on Wednesday, after the Israeli PM said that Lebanon is not included in the US-Iran ceasefire deal. Hospitals in Beirut and across Lebanon are struggling to cope with hundreds of casualties after the Israeli military launched strikes. According to officials, at least 254 people have been killed and more than 1,100 have been injured. The death count is expected to rise as many people remain in critical condition. Rescuers are working to reach those who are still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
The wave of strikes began shortly after Trump announced a 15-day ceasefire with Iran aimed at finding peace in the Middle East. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Lebanon is not included in the truce. One of the first major strikes hit a cafe in Saida, killing eight people and injuring 22 others. Mostly, the strikes targeted congested neighbourhoods, which caused significant damage and loss of lives. Iran has threatened to withdraw from the ceasefire if Israel continues to attack Lebanon. Violations of ceasefire have been reported at a few places across the conflict zone. It is being anticipated that Pakistan caused confusion due to which Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire deal and thus Israel fired missiles on Lebanon.
