UAE along with several Gulf nations have reported missile and drone attacks on their territories, hours after Iran and the United States announced a two-week ceasefire. UAE said that its air defences are actively engaging incoming missiles and drones from Iran. In Lebanon, which was not covered by the ceasefire, the violence was particularly intense, with at least 89 people killed and around 700 injured in one of the heaviest Israeli strikes on the country. The air defences are currently dealing with missiles and drones coming from Iran, UAE’s Defence Ministry said. One Indian national and two Emiratis were also injured.

Just hours after Washington and Tehran agreed to pause hostilities, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait all activated their air defence systems to intercept incoming threats. A gas processing facility in Abu Dhabi was set ablaze following incoming strikes, highlighting the continued vulnerability of critical energy infrastructure. The UAE has faced repeated attacks in recent weeks as Iran targeted fossil fuel assets in response to US and Israeli strikes. Kuwait also reported a sustained wave of drone attacks early Wednesday. It neutralised 28 drones, with some drones targeting oil facilities, power stations and water desalination plants. The strikes caused serious infrastructure damage in the country.

In Bahrain, authorities reported two injuries and property damage after debris from intercepted drones fell in the Sitra area. Fire was brought under control by civil defence teams. The Iranian attack also killed Saudi Arabia’s key East-West oil pipeline, disrupting a crucial route. On the other hand, Israel continued its parallel military campaign against Iran-backed Hezbollah. Lebanese media reported ongoing strikes in the South, including artillery shelling and an air strike near a hospital that killed four people.
