The 700-kg animals derived in high-altitude breeding program of ICAR-NBRI symbolize the India diversity of the frontiers and have a height of 7 feet. Bactrians have been able to survive -40c winters as compared to single-humped Rajasthan camel and they assist in carrying out ITBP patrols with China.
BSF riders dressed in neat uniforms of olive color lead the herd at the event and are led to the dhol beats of Rajasthani folk music with 30kg sandbags as pretend ammunition.
