Reliance industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has just made the announcement of a ground breaking investment of 7 lakh crore in Gujarat in a span of five years that is 2 times the 3.5 crore that the conglomerate had promised the state in the past. On January 10, 2026, via the introduction of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit, in Rajkot, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel were present, Ambani committed five audacious promises that will transform Gujarat into a global clean energy, AI and infrastructure hub, to provide exponential employment and livelihoods to millions.
Five Strategic Pledges
1. Investment Scale: Gujarat is the biggest investment of Reliance. We have also invested 3.5 lakh crore in the past five years. Today we are attempting to increase industry in the Saurashtra and Kutch to 7 lakh crore we are intending to do so announced Ambani.
2. Green revolution, Jamnagar: The hydrocarbon giant will be the largest clean energy exporter in India: solar, green hydrogen, battery storage, sustainable aviation fuels. According to him, Jamnagar is moving their back to a position which it will export to be green materials.
3. Kutch Solar Giant: These include Round-the-clock megawatts and multi-gigawatts large-scale solar utility project that uses innovative storage and grid technology- one of the largest in the world.
4. Project Leadership: India: The largest AI-optimized data centre in Jamnagar, and Jio Intelligence Platform with native language inexpensive AI. Ambani reported that Gujarat is a pioneer in artificial intelligence.
5. Sports Infrastructure: Reliance is the sponsor of Ahmedabad Olympics bid 2036 running Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex. Jamnagar hospital and chain of schools will be transformed into the world-class, which are being aimed at Saurashtra.
