Indian Army entered into an agreement (Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) to co-create software and artificial intelligence (AI)-based applications per the requirement of the military. It is collaboration with educational organizations, emerging student talents, and the forefront research activity to enhance operations logistics and decision-making capacity of the Army operating within an increasingly digital battle field environment.
Objective of the MoU
The key aim of the MoU is to create native, secure and domain specific software and AI application that can directly address the operational issues of the Indian Army. By working together with NSUT, the Army will have access to the most recent research in such areas as AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, automation, and software engineering to enhance its technological edge.
In the context of such teamwork, multidisciplinary teams of the Army members, Professors of the NSUT, and student will work on problem statements presented to the Army. They can encompass the solutions to real time situational awareness and intelligent surveillance, decision support systems and AI-driven logistics management.

The partnership will target some of the strategic points that AI and software can interfere with. Potential areas include:
- A reconnaissance and surveillance system using artificial intelligence.
