The Winter Session of Parliament concluded on Friday as both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned sine die after the passage of key Bills. Lok Sabha recorded a productivity of about 111% over 15 sittings as quoted by Lower House Speaker Om Birla whereas the Upper House achieved a prodcutivity of 121% as claimed by Rajya Sabha Chairperson C.P. Radhakrishnan, who presided his first session after taking charge of the office. Lok Sabha passed a total of eight bills out of 10 bills introduced in the House. Major topics taken up during the discussion were- 150 years of Vande Mataram, Special Intensive Rivision issue, electoral reforms etc.

The Winter Session highlighted the growing emphasis on structural reforms alongside rising political polarisation. As Parliament moves towards the Budget Session, the focus will be on addressing unresolved debates, ensuring accountability in law-making, and strengthening parliamentary dialogue to better respond to emerging economic, environmental and governance challenges.
